Dr Stavropoulou is a health services researcher with a background in health economics and policy and an interest in research and innovation. In her capacity as the Co-Director of the Centre for Healthcare Innovation Research (CHIR) she does research on the challenges of spreading innovation in healthcare to understand what hinders innovation from reaching out those who benefit from it. She is particularly interested in the impact of public funding in supporting the creation and spread of innovation in healthcare. She has worked closely with funding bodies and between 2021 and 2022 she was on a part-time secondment at the Medical Research Council (MRC) evaluating the Council’s early career schemes.
