Bryan has focused on the analysis of quality improvement and improvement capability building efforts in the NHS. He has a particular interest in efforts by acute care providers to develop organisation-wide approaches to improvement and has written a number of publications on this topic, such as The Improvement Journey and Building an organisational culture of continuous improvement. Bryan has also co-authored a number of general guides on improvement, such as Quality Improvement Made Simple and How to Get Started in QI. He has a PhD in Social Policy from the LSE.
